Having fun in Kansas City, MO

In Kansas City, at one of the museums in 2009. Saw this photo and still seemed funny. 🙂

The Missing Ingredient

For a while now, I had no idea what was going on with me. It is not a major issue, just one that's enough to bother me from time to time. But this week, I had figured it out. Had a physical exam and when the doctor ordered blood work, he got an extra test. At first, it made no sense to me why he would have included it.

24 Hours in St Louis, MO

24 Hours in St Louis, MO

I was in St Louis, MO for a business meeting. After the meeting, I gave myself a day to see the highlights of St Louis before I headed home.

I went to the City Museum. I got there, saw that it was more 'family-friendly' and decided it was not for me. Coffee in hand, I headed towards the Gateway Arch. It's an impressive monument and most famous in this city. It's immediately recognizable by its stainless steel structure, rising 600+ft into the air.

What's interesting is that St Louis is the last big city before the big exploration out west by Lewis and Clark in 1804 and 1805. The Gateway Arch is also a national monument so there's park rangers. I paid $14 for a ticket to the top of the arch and a movie. I chose the Lewis and Clark feature as I was more curious about their adventure. The pass is good for 7 days, so I came back the next day for the ride up to the top.

That Moment

I often wondered what happened to so and so. I've often wondered where their life has led them to, what they might be doing today, who they're with, etc.

Well, my life has been unpredictable to say the least. I found that the moment you find out that an ex has moved on, you immediately think, well, good for them. But do you really? Do you secretly wished you moved on first? Perhaps. I will say that I've never had to find out, never really wanted to because the past is the past. There's a reason it didn't work out before and so there's no point in looking back.

Coffee, RMB 40. That Moment, Priceless...

That line has been used before but yeah. The moment is priceless. We had coffee. She got me a glass of iced water, something I've been missing for a while. That glass of iced cold water tasted complete. If time could freeze, that moment was perfect. Sometimes, these are the moments that we live for. That's the moment that I will remember.
